Using her training as a social worker, family therapist, and educator and her expertise in building successful businesses, she combines her two passions:
Empowering women on a global basis and supporting socially responsible business practices.
Born in Trinidad and raised in Toronto, Canada, Thompson received her Master’s degree in social work from Smith College in Northampton, MA. She later served as dean of multicultural affairs at Phillips Exeter Academy in New Hampshire, and has been a featured speaker at many events including The National Black MBA Association, The National Organization for Women, Black Enterprise Entrepreneurs conference, Columbia University School of Business, Women of Vision Alliance, The Wharton School of Business, and The United States Department of Justice.
As a distinguished Goldman Sachs 10,000 Small Businesses scholar, she was one of 20 celebrated women entrepreneurs at the 2016 White House – United State of Women Summit.
Thompson has been featured in numerous publications, has co-authored the book ‘Values Sell: Transforming Purpose into Profit Through Creative Sales and Distribution Strategies,’ and has earned various prestigious awards including Madam CJ Walker Award for Leadership and Entrepreneurship, The Rhode Island House of Representatives Outstanding Woman Entrepreneur of the year; and the African American Empowerment Weekend Legacy Award.
As a graduate of the Tuck-Smith Executive Program for Global Leadership for Women, Nadine Thompson focused on entrepreneurship, multiculturalism, diversity, and psychology, and how to successfully infuse that into modern business practices.
Most recently, Thompson served as the president of Bedroom Kandi Boutique Parties, an innovative sexual health and wellness company in Stratham, NH. Thompson led the company’s growth and development of the brand by implementing a new commission program for their independent consultants, creating women’s wellness, men’s and LGBTQ product lines. Thompson is also responsible for creating, designing, curating and launching their Kandi Koated line of cosmetics. The Kandi Koated line will be launched in May 2019.
Thompson utilized her gift for product development and innovative marketing initiatives to evolve Bedroom Kandi from an adult toy company to a comprehensive lifestyle brand, tripling the number of consultants and spurring exponential company growth. Her successes are highlighted in her podcast ‘The Business of Pleasure,’ a unique approach to educating both consultants and customers about the nuances of the direct sales industry.
Prior to her success at Bedroom Kandi, Nadine Abraham Thompson founded Soul Purpose Beauty and Lifestyle Company, and Warm Spirit, two natural beauty and personal care product companies that utilized a network of independent consultants using home party and direct sales as their primary business models.
Thompson, with her dedication to redefining the meaning of beauty and empowerment, successfully managed a nationwide network of more than 30,000 consultants with annual sales over $30 million.
For her innovative leadership at Soul Purpose, Thompson was awarded the coveted Black Enterprise entrepreneur of the year award, and she has recently returned with the goal to disrupt the direct sales and home party business with an exclusive line of CBD health and wellness products that will be available both online and through their network of consultants in July 2019.
Thompson’s long-term vision is to establish a foundation where successful entrepreneurs will mentor and coach other women from the Native American and African diaspora around the ideas of business development and entrepreneurship using self-actualization, beauty, and lifestyle as the paradigm for wealth creation and empowerment.
Thompson lives in Exeter, New Hampshire with her loving husband, Rev. Robert H. Thompson, their children, Camilla, Isaiah, grandchildren Marcus, Jayde, and Kairo and a houseful of pets. She spends her free time finding joy and pleasure in her garden.
